Refund Policy
Here’s a Refund Policy for your Robinius site, drafted to comply with Finnish law (EU & national consumer protection). You should review it with your legal advisor or a Finnish attorney to ensure full compliance and any updates, but this gives you a solid foundation.
Refund Policy (Finland & EU Compliant)
Effective Date: 23.9.2025
Website: robiniusbooks.com
Seller: Robinius
1. Intro
We want you to be happy with your purchase. This policy explains when refunds are possible, what rights you have under Finnish law (including EU rules for distance selling and digital content), and how to request a refund.
2. Right of Withdrawal (14 days cooling-off period)
-
If you’ve purchased a physical product (the physical version of Robinius) online, you have the right under Finnish law to withdraw (cancel) the purchase within 14 calendar days from the day you receive the goods, without giving any reason.
-
To exercise this right, you must inform us (via email or another clear statement) within those 14 days.
-
After notifying us, you must return the goods to us within another 14 days at the latest.
-
Goods must be returned unused (unless you have examined them as necessary to assess their nature, characteristics, and functioning), undamaged, and in original packaging. You are responsible for normal handling.
3. Exceptions & When the Withdrawal Right Doesn’t Apply
-
The right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content (eBook) delivered immediately after purchase, once delivery has begun with your prior explicit consent and acknowledgment that you lose the right of withdrawal.
-
Also, custom-made or personalised physical products are excluded.
4. Refund Process
-
Once you notify us of your withdrawal (for physical goods), we will process a full refund for all payments received including standard delivery cost (if any), within 14 calendar days from the date on which we are aware of your decision to withdraw.
-
If you used a non-standard delivery method, additional delivery charges may not be refunded.
-
The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless you agree otherwise.
5. Defective or Misrepresented Products
-
If the physical book is defective, damaged, or materially different from what was described, you are entitled under Finnish law to demand repair, replacement, or refund.
-
Notification of defects should be made without undue delay after you discover the defect, and within 8 days of receipt when possible.
6. Digital Products (eBook)
-
If you purchase the eBook and immediately download or access it, the 14-day cancellation right does not apply if you have given consent and acknowledged losing this right.
-
However, if the digital content is defective (for example, doesn’t work or is substantially different from description), you can request a remedy: either a repair, a replacement, or a partial/full refund depending on severity.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
-
Contact us at robinius.books@gmail.com with your order number, date of purchase, and reason for refund (even though reason is not required for withdrawal period).
-
If returning physical goods: pack them securely and send them to us (we will send instructions).
-
After receiving returned goods (or proof of return), we will issue your refund within 14 calendar days.
8. Buyer’s Return Shipping Costs
-
In the case of withdrawal (cancel) under the right of withdrawal, you are responsible for the cost of returning the product, unless we state otherwise.
-
If the product is defective or we made an error, we will cover return shipping.
9. Partial Refunds
-
We may offer partial refunds if goods are returned damaged, visibly used beyond necessary inspection, or not in original condition.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
-
These Refund Policy terms are governed by Finnish law, including the Consumer Protection Act and EU consumer rights directives.
-
If you believe your rights under this policy or Finnish/EU law have been violated, you may contact the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta) or another relevant authority.
